1.What is UV resistant polyurethane flooring?
Weather-Resistant Polyurethane Flooring is a high-performance flooring system formulated with polyurethane resin and developed using solvent-free or water-based technology for outdoor applications and environments requiring excellent weather resistance.
Through advanced weather-resistant polyurethane technology, the system addresses the common limitations of conventional epoxy flooring in outdoor environments, such as premature aging, chalking, and degradation caused by UV exposure.
It combines excellent weather resistance, high wear resistance, impact resistance, flexibility, and seamless hygiene, providing a long-lasting flooring solution suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Key Features
1. Excellent Weather & UV Resistance
Provides strong resistance to UV exposure and aging. When properly installed, it resists fading, chalking, and cracking under long-term outdoor exposure, with a typical service life of 8–12 years outdoors and 10–15 years indoors.
2. High Wear & Compressive Resistance
After curing, the system provides excellent hardness and wear resistance, capable of withstanding forklift traffic, heavy equipment, and frequent pedestrian movement, helping reduce surface dusting, scratches, and damage.
3. Flexible & Impact Resistant
Combines hardness with flexibility to absorb impact energy from heavy objects and help reduce the risk of cracking caused by impact, making it suitable for areas involving heavy material handling.
4. Seamless, Hygienic & Easy to Maintain
Creates a seamless flooring surface with fewer joints and areas where dust and dirt can accumulate. Oil, grease, and other stains are easy to clean, helping reduce routine maintenance requirements.
5. Chemical & Stain Resistance
Provides resistance to mild acids and alkalis, salt spray, engine oil, diesel, and other common chemical media. Its dense surface helps reduce stain penetration, making it suitable for demanding industrial and outdoor environments.
Applications
Outdoor Applications
- Open-air parking lots
- Outdoor walkways
- Sports stadium terraces and spectator areas
- Outdoor platforms and terraces
- Industrial park roads
- Coastal and salt-spray environments
- Outdoor storage areas
Indoor Applications
- Industrial facilities requiring high weather resistance
- Logistics and warehouse facilities
- Underground parking garages and semi-open entrances
- Shopping mall corridors
- Hospital passageways
- School surroundings and sports facilities
Not Recommended For
This system is not recommended for:
- Floors subject to continuous water immersion
- Areas with prolonged exposure to highly corrosive chemicals, such as concentrated nitric acid or strong alkalis
- Environments with temperatures above 100°C
- Substrates with severe settlement or structural movement
2.Will polyurethane flooring fade or chalk under long-term sunlight?
The system has excellent UV and weather resistance, helping minimize fading, chalking, and surface degradation caused by prolonged exposure to sunlight.
3.How long does UV-resistant polyurethane flooring last?
With proper substrate preparation, installation, and maintenance, the typical service life can reach approximately 8–12 years outdoors and 10–15 years indoors, depending on traffic, environmental conditions, and maintenance.
4.What is the difference between polyurethane and epoxy flooring?
Polyurethane flooring generally offers better UV resistance, flexibility, and weather resistance, making it more suitable for outdoor environments. Epoxy flooring is typically more suitable for indoor applications where UV exposure is limited.
5.Is polyurethane flooring waterproof?
The cured polyurethane flooring system provides good resistance to water and moisture. However, it is not recommended for areas subject to continuous water immersion unless a specially designed waterproofing system is used.
